Subtitling Workshop @Erasmus Universiteit R'damMeike Lindsen
Do you love film? And, are you interested in learning Dutch or practice translation in the most fun way possible? After Brussels, London and Riga, CinemaBioscoop will now offer a Subtitling Workshop at Erasmus University in Rotterdam - especially for you!
Have you ever noticed mistakes in subtitles? Most probably you have! They are often funny, sometimes annoying, and rarely intentionally. In this global society where filmmakers want their films travel to many international film festivals and where Netflix is bringing international productions to its subscribers all over the world, subtitling has gone from a luxury to a necessity. And now it is your time to enter the field of subtitling. Practice your Dutch or translation skills in a new way by subtitling a short Dutch language film into your own mother language! Don’t worry, your Dutch doesn’t have to be perfect. We have short films for beginners to advanced language levels.
The teaching staff from one of the leading centres in audiovisual translation worldwide, UCL Centre for Translation Studies (London, UK), and CinemaBioscoop are hosting a professional workshop for those of you who are interested in the craft and art of subtitling a movie.
*The workshop is free of charge but signing up is required as we have limited availability. To register, please send us an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org or call Meike at 0644291560.
